We observe how the environment is less and less able to absorb the world’s garbage. But while we complain about it, we ourselves continue to produce ton after ton of more garbage. It’s actually already too late to rethink.
Wir beobachten, wie es die Umwelt immer weniger schafft, den Müll der Welt aufzunehmen. Doch während wir darüber jammern, produzieren wir selbst weiterhin Tonne um Tonne mehr Müll. Um umzudenken, ist es eigentlich schon zu spät.
We have only one planet. There is no alternative for us. Do we want to do something about it? It’s not hard, but it’s a firm decision.
Wir haben nur einen Planeten. Es gibt für uns keine Alternative. Wollen wir etwas dafür tun? Es ist nicht schwer, aber es ist eine feste Entscheidung.

If we are lucky, it ends up in our own landfills. But often it doesn’t.
Wenn wir Glück haben, landet er auf unseren eigenen Mülldeponien. Oft tut er das aber nicht.
It is much cheaper for the garbage companies to export our garbage from the industrialized nations into the third world countries.
Viel billiger ist es für die Müllkompanien, unseren Müll der Industrienationen in die Länder der dritten Welt zu exportieren.
Or simply to throw overboard from the ships.
Oder ganz einfach aus den Schiffen über Bord zu werfen.

The western industrialized countries would have the possibility to dispose of their waste themselves. But the Third World countries do not have these technical possibilities. The garbage goes directly into the oceans.
Die westlichen Industrieländer hätten die Möglichkeit, ihren Müll selbst zu entsorgen. Doch die Dritte Welt Länder haben diese technischen Möglichkeiten nicht. Der Müll wandert auf direktem Weg in die Ozeane.

What can we do? / Was können wir tun?
What can we do together to reduce our waste. Here I have some practical tips.
Was können wir gemeinsam tun, um unsere Verschwendung zu reduzieren. Hier habe ich einige praktische Tipps.
1. Go Vote / Gehe wählen
Ask yourself if your party is committed to the environment, If not, vote for the other party.
It is not worth it otherwise. Put the protection of your environment on the first place. If the politicians find out that the environmental thought is on the first place among the population, then they will quickly rethink their priorities.
Frage Dich, ob sich Deine Partei für die Umwelt engagiert, Wenn nein, wähle die andere Partei. Sie ist es sonst nicht Wert. Stelle den Schutz Deiner Umwelt auf Platz 1. Wenn die Politiker feststellen, dass der Umweltgedanke bei der Bevölkerung auf Platz 1 liegt, dann werden sie ihre Prioritäten schnell überdenken.
Those who absolutely do not care about the environment are the friends around Donald Trump and his MAGA obsession. To make America great, it doesn’t have to be drowning in garbage. Vote for the environment, not for the money.
Wer sich absolut nicht um die Umwelt kümmert, sind die Freunde um Donald Trump und seine MAGA Besessenheit. Um Amerika groß zu machen, muss es nicht in Müll ersticken. Wähle die Umwelt und nicht das Geld.
2. Leave your car at home / Lass Dein Auto zuhause
Take the bus. Take the bike, Rent an electric car, Walk
Nimm den Bus. Nimm das Fahrrad, Miete ein Elektro-Auto, Gehe zu Fuß
Muscle cars are no longer sexy. They show that you have a small penis and that you don’t care about the environment.
Muscle Cars sind nicht mehr sexy. Sie zeigen, dass Du einen kleinen Penis hast und dass Dir die Umwelt völlig egal ist.
3. Do not use single use plastic / Verwende kein Einmalgebrauchs- Plastik
Use your own shopping bags from home
Verwende eigene Einkaufstaschen von Zuhause
Do not use disposable plastic. Use glass reusable bottles
Benutze kein Einmal Plastik. Nimm wieder verwendbare Glasflaschen
Buy fresh produce, without plastic packaging.
Buy local goods without long delivery routes.
Kaufe frische Waren, ohne Plastikverpackungen.
Kaufe lokale Waren ohne lange Lieferwege.
Reduce meat consumption. / Reduziere den Fleischkonsum.
Boycott companies that don’t care about the environment. Let them go bankrupt.
Boykottiere Firmen, die sich nicht um die Umwelt kümmern. Lasse sie pleite gehen.
4. Save unnecessary energy consumption / Spare unnötigen Energieverbrauch
Travel by train and not by plane
Reise mit dem Zug und nicht mit dem Flugzeug
If possible, turn off the power more often. Do not let water flow unnecessarily, wash often with cold water. Do not use the washing machine so often.
Wenn möglich, schalte den Strom öfter ab. Lasse nicht unnötig Wasser fließen, Wasche oft mit kaltem Wasser. Benutze die Waschmaschine nicht so häufig.
Keep the rooms cool and dress warmer for it.
Halte die Räume kühl und ziehe Dich dafür wärmer an.

… then that is nonsense. First, we should take care of living on this earth.
… dann ist das Unsinn. Zuerst sollten wir uns darum kümmern, auf dieser Erde zu leben.
At the moment, however, it unfortunately looks as if we are working diligently to make our earth uninhabitable.
Momentan sieht es aber leider so aus als ob wir uns fleißig darum bemühen, unsere Erde unbewohnbar zu machen.
